About Maxime Cressy
Maxime Cressy is a French-American professional tennis player. Some say he inherited his enthusiasm for sports from his mother as she was a good volleyball player at the university level. She won two NCAA national level championships with her team USC Trojans.
Maxime started playing tennis at a very young age and began training at French Federation in Boulouris after 12. He later majored in Maths at UCLA, continuing his tennis adventure at the university level during the 2016-19 period. As a side note from this period, he held a 26-0 playing doubles in 2019.
Right after he started his professional tennis career, he won the singles at the 2019 Cleveland Challenger. In the same year, he won two doubles titles - the Columbus Challenger and the Tennis Challenger Hamburg.
The very next year, during the ATP Challenger Tour, he won the 2020 Challenger Banque Nationale de Drummondville. He also played at the 2020 US Open, debuting for the Grand Slam. He defeated Jozef Kovalik and reached the second round. Again in 2021, he entered Australian Open and won against Taro Daniel to reach the second round. As of 2021, he holds a world rank of 150, which is his career-high in ATP singles.
Growing up, Maxime admired Pete Sampras, the former American tennis professional. He loves football as well and credits Ronaldo as his favourite player. Along with all this, he is also a contributor to the UNICEF organisation like many other tennis players.
