Belinda Bencic is a professional tennis player hailing from Switzerland. Born on 10th March 1997, this tennis ace has a Women Tennis Association (WTA) career-high rank of no. 4. Apart from winning five singles titles in the WTA tour, she also has two doubles titles to her name.  

During the recent 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Bencic managed to grab a gold medal with her exemplary performance in a singles match. 

Tennis Influences

Belinda’s parents were sportspersons who primarily influenced her to play tennis. Her father was a professional hockey ace, while her mother was a handball player. 

Moreover, she was also influenced from the former Swiss tennis ace, Martina Hingis. Belinda was born around the time when Martina was popularly acing the game. This had a huge impact on her life, due to which she started playing tennis from the mere age of two. 

Further, at the age of seven, Bencic’s father organised her training under Melanie Molitor, who is Hingi’s mother and tennis coach. From then on, there was no looking back to young Belinda. 

Next, as a junior, she also went to Nick Bollettieri and Evert Tennis Academy for enhanced training. 

Hobbies and Interests of Bencic

Bencic loves to read, watch movies and also paints sometimes. Currently, she is dating Martin Hromkovic, her personal trainer. He was a professional soccer player from Slovakia who retired in 2019. He is 15 years elder to Belinda and is very dedicated to her both personally and professionally.
