About Pedro Sakamoto

Ons Jabeur 

Ons Jabeur is a professional tennis genius hailing from a small town of Tunisia. Her mother used to play tennis as a hobby which led little Ons to explore the game at the mere age of three. Over time, she was trained by different coaches helping her ace the game. 

Ons participated and won several junior tennis tournaments and Grand Slams. In 2008, she entered the world of ITF Women’s Circuit. From being a runner up in the beginning, she achieved 260th rank in the world in the later years.

From then on, she saw steady success winning different titles around. From 2013 to 2016, her rank improved, and she was among the top 200 players in the world. 2017-18 brought her rank up among the top 100 players. Moreover, she has won 11 singles titles along with 1 doubles title on the ITF Circuit. 

Currently, she holds 25th rank in the world in the Women’s Tennis Association (WT). Not just that! She has even created WTA history by being the highest-ranked Arab player. In 2019, she was given the title of the Arab Woman of the Year in Sports. 

On the personal front, Jabeur is the youngest of the four siblings. She has a sister named Yasmine, along with two brothers Marwen and Hatem. Furthermore, she is married to a Russian-Tunisian fencer (former), Karim Kamoun. Karim has also been providing fitness coaching to Ons since 2017. Apart from tennis, she is also fond of football which she plays as a leisure activity.
