Federico Delbonis's

Federico Delbonis is an Argentinian tennis player. Born in Azul, Argentina, on October 5, 1990, he turned pro at the relatively young age of 17. In-game, he is a left-handed player and uses a two-handed backhand. Delbonis has finished eight seasons in the Top 100 FedEx ATP Rankings from 2013 to 2020, peaking at No. 33 in 2016. He won his first Davis Cup by beating Karlovic in the 2016 final regarding his most significant professional achievements. The biggest win in his career is over then-No. 2 Murray at Indian Wells in 2016 after posting clay-court wins over No. 5 Federer in 2013 and No. 9 Wawrinka in 2015. 

Federico's nicknames are Delbo and Gordo, as his fans would like to call him. He began playing tennis at the early age of 7, with sports being a big part of his family's lifestyle. His father, Horacio, once was a goalkeeper for a professional football team. Regarding more family details, his mother's name is Marta, and he has two siblings - Alfredo and Felicitas. 

When on the tennis field, Federico's favourite surfaces are clay and outdoor hard. His favourite shot is forehand, and his favourite tournament is Roland Garros. While he was growing up, his idols were Bjorn Borg and countryman Guillermo Vilas. Other than tennis, Delbonis likes to play football, watch movies and go out with his friends. He has a wife, Virginia, whom he married in 2017, and a daughter Celina, born in 2013.

Delbonis has two major singles titles, winning Marrakech in 2016 and Sao Paulo in 2014. Unfortunately, he recently lost Alex Molcan in the semifinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Belgrade 2021. Before that, he lost in the quarterfinals to Reilly Opelka at the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome.
