Anastasia Potapova is a young and upcoming tennis player born in Saratov, Russia, on 30 March 2001. Her greatest achievements are becoming world number one in the juniors, winning the 2016 Wimbledon Championships girls' singles title. 

She made her debut at the Grand Slam tournament after receiving a wildcard for the qualifying draw of the 2017 Wimbledon Champion and defeated her opponent to qualify for the main draw. 

Tennis Influences

Anastasia was inspired by her grandmother Pavlinova Olga, former Russian national team coach. She used to enjoy watching children playing tennis in the Palace of Sports. Besides, Anastasia's mother, Yuliya, is a Master of Sports candidate in Volleyball. She also used to be a basketball coach for the Sports Institute's national team in Saratov. 

Anastasia's parents have been supporting her since her childhood. They designed a unique wall in their apartment, where she used to learn striking techniques before she started playing at the age of 5. By the age of 9, she had bagged her first title at Volgograd. 

Her great performance at a tender age gave her a chance of training at Alexander Ostrovsky Academy in Khimki. Initially, she used to be coached by Irina Dorinina but currently works with Iain Hughes.

Hobbies and Interests of Potapova

Besides being a tennis superstar, Anastasia has kept her personal life under seclusion. Nevertheless, the 20 years old star is still single and currently busy with her career.

As an active social media user, she has amassed a large number of users. She loves playing basketball and hanging out with friends.
