Wimbledon Women

The Wimbledon women 2021 tournament will be the 126th edition of the most celebrated tennis event in the world. It will take place from June 28 to July 11, 2021, after a one year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

WTA Wimbledon 2021 will finally move us away from discussions about cancellations and steer us towards some much-needed quality tennis matches.

WTA Wimbledon 2021 Favourites

Serena Williams is closest to Martina Navratilova's nine Wimbledon titles. The American has seven titles next to her name but will have to work her socks off to triumph at WTA Wimbledon 2021.

The 39-year old queen of tennis is now arguably past her prime, and after a year of cancellations, it is unlikely that she will be able to return to top form as quickly as her younger opponents.

So who will win the women's final at Wimbledon in 2021? 2019 Wimbledon winner, Simona Halep, is one name to consider. The Romanian defeated Williams easily 6-2, 6-2 in the final in 2019, and will be over the Moon if she can win two Wimbledon titles in a row.

Another name to consider is top-ranked Ashleigh Barty. The diminutive Queenslander has excelled on clay courts but considers grass to be her favourite surface. She has a junior Wimbledon title and is now ripe for winning the real deal.

If you have been following Wimbledon women's results, you can probably guess our last contender. Garbine Muguruza is a 2017 Wimbledon champion, 2015 finalist, and will likely be near the top in 2021 too.
