ATP Shanghai Open live scores, results today, draws

The ATP Shanghai 2021 is the eighth Masters 1000 tournament in the ATP Tour and is the only one that takes place in Asia. The 2021 event will be the 12th edition of the prominent tennis tournament and is scheduled to play out from October 11 to October 17, 2021.

The 2020 tennis Shanghai event didn't take place as planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so tennis fans in China will be happy that they will get to see the best ATP stars in 2021 after a one-year hiatus.

ATP Shanghai 2021 Outlook

Daniil Medvedev won the tournament in 2019, and the talented Russian will look to repeat the same feat once again in 2021. In the 2019 final, the 2020 Tour Finals winner triumphed over Alexander Zverev in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.

Medvedev was the third seed to win the 2019 ATP Shanghai Open event behind top-seeded Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. Both of these two will likely be his main rivals for the 2021 Shanghai Open title once again.

Federer and Djokovic suffered surprise defeats in the quarterfinals back then, so they come into the 2021 tournament with a point to prove. The Swiss superstar has won the ATP Shanghai Open two times in his career whereas Djokovic holds the Shanghai Open record with four titles in as many final appearances.

The likes of Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas will be the other candidates for what promises to be a very competitive Shanghai Open 2021.
