ATP Monte Carlo live scores, results today, draws

The Monte-Carlo Masters is a prominent ATP tournament that takes place on the hard courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club. This year, the tournament will play out from 10 to 18 April, and that will be the 114th edition of the prestigious Monte-Carlo Masters.

Monte-Carlo Masters 2021 Outlook

In its last edition, 2019 one, the Monte-Carlo Masters featured some very popular tennis names. Both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal were part of the tournament, which also included other high-ranking players such as Daniil Medvedev and Borna Coric.

However, neither one of those players won the prestigious Monte-Carlo Masters title. Novak Djokovic lost in the quarterfinals to Daniil Medvedev, and the Russian then lost to the unseeded Dusan Lajovic in the semifinals.

Rafael Nadal didn't fare much better either. The Raging Bull lost in straight sets to Fabio Fognini in the semifinals, who previously defeated Borna Coric in the quarterfinals.

In the end, it was seed number thirteen Fabio Fognini against the unseeded Serb Dusan Lajovic in the Monte-Carlo Masters final. Fabio Fognini was excellent throughout the 2019 tournament and put the icing on the cake by beating Lajovic in straight sets.

Fognini would love to repeat that feat in 2021, but he will have to fight tooth and nail to do so. The pandemic has left lots of top players hungry for tennis titles, and in 2021, the likes of Djokovic, Nadal, Medvedev, and Zverev will go for every available trophy out there. Rafael Nadal, who has won the tournament a record eleven times, is a particularly smart bet to win the Monte-Carlo Masters in the year in which tennis will hit the restart button.
