Yulia Putintseva is a 26-year-old Russian tennis player born on 7 January 1995. She has a high-career WTA singles ranking of world number 27 on 26 February 2017 and WTA single ranking world number 33 on 23 August 2021. 

Putintseva is a three-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist and made her first appearance in Luxembourg, qualifying as WC. Though Putintseva was born in Russia, she relocated to Boca Raton, Florida.

Putintseva was introduced to tennis by her father, and she fell in love with it. She began attending training classes at Spartak Club in Moscow before she became a professional player in August 2009. 

Putintseva moved to Paris to join Mouratoglou Academy after winning the Under 14s tournament. As a young girl, her idols were Justine Henin and Martina Hingis. In fact, she still follows and watches Henin’s tennis videos on YouTube. 

Putintseva’s height of 5 feet and 4 inches and a bodyweight of 59 kilograms enables her to move swiftly on the court. To this day, her father Anton Puntintseva and mother Anna Putintseva are her biggest supporters.

Putintseva is a forehand player who loves clay surfaces. When not on the court, she loves listening to music, singing, playing SUDOKU, cards and chess. The one musician she would like to meet in her life is Eminem. 

The pro tennis player speaks English, Russian and some French. Also, she is very active on common social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, where she likes engaging her followers.
