Svetlana Kuznetsova is a famous Russian tennis player born on 27 June 1985. The 36-year-old pro player appeared in the Grand Slam singles finals four times and won two. 

Also, she has participated in seven doubles finals and won twice. Kuznetsova achieved her career-high WTA singles ranking of world number 32 in 2013 and number 89 in doubles ranking.

Svetlana Kuznetsova was born into an athletic family. Her father, Alexander Kuznetsov, is a professional tennis coach. He’s respected for coaching Olympic and world cycling champions. Her mother, Galina Tsareva, is a six-time world champion and holder of 20 world cycling records. Not forgetting her brother, Nikolay Kuznetsova, a coach of the Russian Lokomotiv and silver medalist in the 1996 Summer Olympics. 

Svetlana started playing tennis at the age of 7 years and has been receiving great support from her family. As a young girl, she idolized Marcelo Rios and Yevgeny Kafelnikov. She left Russia at the age of 13 and went to Spain to receive better training and coaching. She also got the opportunity of becoming fluent in Spanish.

Hobbies and Interests of Kuznetsova

Svetlana is happily married to her long time boyfriend, Vladimir Solodovnik. The two made their vows back in 2003 before family and friends. Unfortunately, Svetlana was diagnosed with kidney failure after their wedding. Luckily, Vladimir came through and donated one of his to her. The two lovebirds live in Dubai though they have not yet been blessed with a child as of now. Svetlana’s favourite movies are Love, Actually and Save the Last Dance.
