About Soon-Woo Kwon

Soon-Woo Kwon is a tennis player hailing from South Korea. His father was a Geography teacher who also had a liking for the tennis sport. This is where Kwon picked up this sport, although he wanted to be a football player. However, once he was into tennis, he gave his 100% to become the renowned master he is today.

Kwon started playing tennis when he was 10 years old. When he was 16 years old, he moved to Seoul. Here, he did his schooling along with Duckhee Lee, his fellow ATP player.Β 

In 2015, he played ITF Junior Circuit in Australia and Asia to gather impressive winning streaks. In 2017, he was nominated to represent South Korea in the Davis Cup. Here he faced Denis Istomin, an Uzbek player.Β 

Further in the 2018 Australian Open, he became a debutant at the Grand Slam. Later the following year, he also qualified at US Open and Wimbledon. However, it was only in the 2020 US Open and he was able to win his first Grand Slam.Β 

Kwon has been continuously active in his tennis career. As of March 2020, he has a high ATP singles rank of 69 and doubles rank of 270. The 23-year-old lad has still a long way to go in his career to make it commendable. Moreover, he is currently worth around $60 million as a tennis player.Β
