Petros Tsitsipas

Petros Tsitsipas is a Greek tennis player born on 27 July 2000 in a tennis family. He turned pro in 2019 and is better known as being Stefanos Tsitsipas' younger brother.

Petros, who also goes by the nickname Petroen, is right-handed and has a one-handed backhand. His favourite shot is the volley, and he prefers hard courts, which explains why he cites Indian Wells as his favourite tournament.

Tsitsipas' mother, Julia Salnikova, is also his tennis coach. There's nothing strange about this in the Tsitsipas family as father Apostolos is Stefanos' coach.

Tennis Influences

Petros started playing tennis when he was 5. He looked up to his older brother, who is two years his senior, and decided to follow in his footsteps.

Pete Sampras has been Petros Tsitsipas' biggest tennis influence, and he says that the former world number one is his tennis idol. Sampras has Greek origins, so it's not surprising that Tsitsipas has decided to look up to him.

Hobbies and Interests of Tsitsipas

Tennis is not the only sport that Petros is interested in, as he also is an avid football fan. His favourite team is AEK Athens, and he never misses a game they play.

Tsitsipas says that he enjoys reading and is a Harry Potter fanatic. He also loves watching TV, when he has the time, and lists Life of Pi as his favourite film, Breaking Bad as the best TV show he has seen, and Batman as his most beloved superhero.

His favourite actor is Leonardo Di Caprio, but Orlando Bloom is the TV person he considers his hero.
