About Kaito Uesugi

Marketa Vondrousova is a professional Czech tennis player, who was born on June 28, 1999. Her current WTA ranking is World No. 41 and her career-high position was 14, which is quite a big success for such a young player. She reached her best ranking in July 2019 and has been on the upper levels of WTA ever since.Β

So far, Marketa has won only one singles title, and her career W/L balance is 190/83. Additionally, Vondrousova is infamously known for experiencing many unfortunate injuries in the earlier part of her career, notably missing the second part of the 2019 season.

Tennis Influence

Marketa lives and trains in Prague, and she went to the city alone at the age of 15. She started playing tennis at the age of 4 with her father, David Vondrousov and practised in Prague until the age of 10.Β

Her mother Jindriska Anderlova played volleyball in the top Czech league, so one could say that sport is in their genes. From her mother’s side of the family, Vondrousova has a strong athletic history, as her grandfather, Frantisek Frk was the 1935 Czechoslovak national pentathlon champion.

In-game, the hallmark move of Vondrousova is her unique drop shot. She is one of the greatest returners on the 2019 tour who lead the tour with at least ten matches in the percentage of winning return points in 2019.Β

Hobbies and Interests of Vondrousova

Vondrousova has been passionate about other sports in addition to tennis, though she hasn’t found one to match her love for it yet. Marketa had a love for football, but she chose tennis over it because she prefers the individual over the collective in sports terms. In her private life, she thinks of herself as a quiet and calm person.
