Jordi Arconada's

Polona Herco is a Slovenian professional tennis player. She was born on 20 January 1991, Maribor, Slovenia. The talented player earned her career-high WTA singles ranking of world number 35 and number 56 in doubles in 2019. 

Additionally, Hercog has bagged 5 WTA Tour titles and 2 doubles. She also merited in the ITF Women’s Circuit, where she garnered 18 singles and 18 doubles titles. Also, Herco partnered with Jessica Moore to win the French Open and Wimbledon Championships junior doubles titles in 2008.

Tennis Influences

Hercog does not come from a tennis background family like most superstars. Her mother, Romana, is a florist and her father, Vojko, is a bar owner. 

Hercog started playing tennis at a local clinic when she was four years old. She later moved to Italy at the age of 14 to receive advanced tennis training. 

Hercog is greatly inspired by Justine Henin’s playing style, attitude and selflessness. Moreover, her favourite shot is the forehand, and she enjoys playing on clay surfaces. 

Hercog lives in her hometown Slovenia and practises with her coach Zeljko Krajan in Budapest. She fluently speaks English, Italian and Slovenian.

Hobbies and Interests of Hercog

Hercog’s family love pets, her favourite dog is Roxi, a Jack Russell Terrier breed. Moreover, she has a very interesting life when she’s not training. You’ll find her listening to rock and pop music and snowboarding. Sushi is one of her favourite foods. Also, Hercog is a fan of movies, and her favourite title is the Godfather trilogy. Her biggest dream is to appear on the top ten list in the world.
