About Heather Watson
Born on May 19 1992, in Guernsey, Heather Watson is a British tennis pro. She has been a former British no.1 tennis player.
Heather has a total of 9 titles to her name until now. The mixed doubles title that she clinched at the 2016 Wimbledon Championship along with Henri Kontinen brought many accolades to her name. She became the first British woman player to grab the Grand Slam title after Jo Durie in 1991. Also, it is the first Wimbledon brought home after Durie in 1987.
Tennis Influences
Heather started playing tennis when she was 7 years old. Her official training started in Florida at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. She still gets her training from this academy.
Heather graduated high school in 2009 at Pendleton. However, she had already started participating in the junior-level competitions from 2006.
She has been to all of it, from British Under-14 Championship to Under-18, Commonwealth Youth Games, Junior Slams, Junior Grand Slams. Her professional career then began in 2009 when she competed in ITF Women’s Circuit.
Hobbies and Interests of Watson
Heather has 2 sisters, Julie and Stephanie, along with 1 brother, Adam. She loves to spend time with her family when she gets the opportunity. The young lady also likes travelling and doing fun activities with her friends.
Heather is currently in a relationship with Courtney Duffus. Duffus is an Irish professional footballer. The duo met after the Wimbledon finals in 2019 at a restaurant. Although Heather never wanted to date a sportsperson, Duffus impressed her amazingly well, and the rest is history!
