Victoria Azarenka is a Belarusian tennis ace who was born on July 31 1989, in Minsk Byelorussian SSR. She held the world no. 1 position in singles in January 2012. Furthermore, she also has 21 WTA singles titles to her name now. This includes 2 Grand Slam titles achieved during the 2012 & 2013 Australian Open. She has the record of being the first Belarusian player to grab the Grand Slam singles title.

Tennis Influences

Victoria was introduced to tennis by her mother, Alla. She was just 7 years old when she started playing the sport. 

Victoria says that Steffi Graf, a former German tennis player, was her idol growing up. Her biggest influence was 1988 Graf’s Calendar Golden Slam. She even had a chance to play against Graf in an exhibition in Boise, a moment she cherishes to date.

Hobbies and Interests of Azarenka

Azarenka revealed in an interview that she loves to do normal, girly stuff like shopping, going to movies and so on. ‘Friends’ is her favourite TV show. She also loves to read books sometimes. 

From 2012 to 2014, she dated the American musician, Stephen Gordy aka Redfoo. In later years, she dated Billy McKeague, a former hockey player. The couple had a son named Leo while they were in a relationship. However, the duo split in 2017. This led to a bitter custody battle over Leo. 

As of now, Leo lives with his mom. She often shares pictures of cute moments with her son on her Insta profile!
