About Jaume Antoni Munar Clar

Jaume Munar is a Spanish tennis star who is slowly making his way into the professional world of tennis. He was born in 1997 in Santanyi, Spain, to Blai and Maria Antonia. Jaume spent most of his childhood here, along with his sister, Antonia. Growing up, Jaume was involved in various sports activities. He played basketball and football and also enjoyed swimming.

Jaume’s love for tennis began at the age of eight. He started playing on the hardcourt. But clay is his most comfortable surface now though he participates in events to play on the hard surface now and then.

Jaume started playing Futures in 2014. The same year, he reached the French Open finals but lost this round to Andrey Rublev. But he made an epic comeback at the 2015 French Open to grab the winning title. Also, 2015 German Open paved the way for his first ATP title playing doubles along with John Peers.Β

Jaume plays fiercely on the court. This style bears a resemblance to that of Jimmy Connors. That is why he is also fondly known as Jimbo among the tennis circle.

In 2018, Jaume left for his hometown to receive further training at the Rafa Nadal Academy. This helped him to spend some quality time with his family and improve his game at the same time. In 2019, his ATP singles ranking was 52, which was his career-high to date.

Jaume’s love for sports is pretty evident. However, he claims to have become a doctor if it wasn’t for tennis.
