About Thomas Fancutt

Professional tennis star Danka Kovinic hails from Montenegro, a member of the Montenegro Fed Cup Team. She was born on November 18 1994, in Cetinje, Montenegro, FR, Yugoslavia. 

Her career-high ITF singles ranking stood at world no. 46 in February 2016. She has successfully claimed 12 singles ITF titles along with 4 doubles ITF and 1 doubles WTA title. 

Danka has listed many firsts in the women’s tennis section for her nation. One such incidence took place at the 2013 Budapest Grand Prix. In this WTA event, she became the first Montenegrin to reach the quarterfinals.

Tennis Influences

Danka was born in a normal family with no sports background. Her father owns a café/bar, while her mother is a kindergarten teacher. She has two brothers Luka and Aleksa. 

She started playing tennis at the age of 7. Growing up, Danka idolised Jelena Jankovic, a Serbian former tennis pro. She used to not only watch all the matches of Jelena but also tried to mimic her backhand style.

However, in a recent interview, she revealed, she considers Roger Federer (in Men’s tennis) and Serena Williams (in Women’s tennis) to be the Greatest Players of All Time. 

Hobbies and Interests of Kovinic

Kovinic loves to spend her time enjoying music and watching movies. She is an avid traveller who is evident through the pictures on her Instagram account. She also likes to shop whenever she travels. 

She also once said that she loves spending time with a few tennis mates, Kristina Mladenovic, Dalila Jakupovic, Bernarda Pera and Jasmine Paolini.
