About Milos Raonic

Milos Raonic is a Canadian tennis player who has a long list of firsts to his credit. He is the first Canadian male to reach the Wimbledon final and the first Canadian male to get into the top 10 in the ATP singles rankings in the Open Era. Raonic has a lot of success on fast courts globally, thanks to his renowned serve and huge forehand. He is still young but he is anticipated to be a formidable Grand Slam rival for many years to come.Β

Milos was born on December 27, 1990, in Podgorica, Montenegro, to Serbian parents. His father Dusan and mother Vesna later moved to Canada in 1994, where he started practising tennis. Raonic began playing tennis at the age of 8 and spent much of his early years working with instructor Casey Curtis. Pete Sampras was his childhood idol, which may explain his concentration on the serve. His forehand is another crucial weapon in his arsenal, and he uses it to complement his serve by hitting it flat and deep. Raonic can hit his forehand in every direction and is adept at doing it even on the move.

Two of the Canadian’s most noticeable flaws are his mobility and backhand. Being a relatively tall man, Raonic finds it difficult to change direction when sprinting, something his opponents frequently exploit. Meanwhile, his backhand lacks the power and depth of his other wing, prompting him to run around it to play a forehand.
