Ruben Bemelmans's

Karolina Pliskova was born on 21 March 1992 and is a pro Czech tennis player. She has had a lot of success in her career so far, as she retained her world No. 1 title in singles for eight weeks straight after reaching the top of the WTA rankings in July 2017. 

The breakthrough year for Pliskova was 2014 when she played at the WTA tour final for a second time in Pattaya, defeating top-50 players Cirstea and Mattek-Sands, before losing the final to Ekaterina Makarova.

Tennis Influences

Starting to play tennis from a very young age, Karolina didn't have a tennis player in her family to look up to. Instead, she was self-motivated and grabbed a racquet for the first time at 4 years old while looking up to many famous female tennis players. 

Now, Pliskova uses a very aggressive approach to extract errors from opponents or win points outright, which is accentuated by her strong, precise serve, muscular groundstrokes, and aggressive net play. 

Hobbies and Interests of Pliskova

Karolina has had a calm life so far, being born in Louny, Czech Republic, to Radek and Martina Pliskova. She has a twin sister Kristyna, who is just two minutes older and is her favourite tennis sparring partner. 

Being passionate about women's sportswear, Pliskova has been a Fila ambassador for apparel and footwear since 2016. Prior to that, she used to wear Mizuno. Other than tennis, Pliskova enjoys listening to music, travelling, and watching movies.
