Irina Maria Bara is a professional Romanian tennis player who was born on March 18, 1995. Her career-high singles ranking is No. 115, which she earned on October 26, 2020. She was ranked No. 56 in WTA doubles rankings in May 2019. On the ITF Circuit, Bara has won nine singles titles and 29 doubles championships, most of which have been on clay. She has reached three $60k finals and one $80k final in singles, but she lost all three, with $25k being her best prize. 
Bara made her WTA debut in the singles tournament at the 2017 BRD Bucharest Open, where she was a wildcard player and lost to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the first round. Bara made her first and only quarterfinal at the Baltic Open in Jurmala in 2019. She defeated two Russian players in the first two rounds, Margarita Gasparyan and Valentina Ivakhnenko, before losing to Sevastova in the quarterfinal.
